"Mic Check"

Not an official Impulse drawing, but very experimental nonetheless, and worthy to be within the collection.

This is actually a commission brought up by a very good friend of mine, for our radio show. ~X52, said he wanted two things to focus on, Captain Impulse, and Microphones. I took it a few steps further until it looked about as insane as the rest of the lot. But that wasn't enough, so I proposed to do it entirely in black and white, using a psuedo-shading thing. That also, wasnt enough. So a single colour was added to give you the viewer something to focus on in this mess of popping blackness, and the result was a further kind of insanity. I love it to pieces.

The references this time around are on the short side, because of the size and how much of Impulse is shown, but here we go:

-Mic Check, microphone and a checkmark, how obvious can you be.
-Snakes and Arrows, take a look on the left, and look at the arrow. I love Rush too much, but it certainly fit. Look up the album art if you can see the similarity.
-Justin Bailey ------ ------, HAHA. Metroid joke out of no where, what fun.
-The art style in itself is reminiscient of a few Kohta Hirano prints.

Mic Check is up about every Tuesday from 7:30 to 9:00 pm (-5 GMT).
